The popularity of hammock camping has grown in recent years. There are certainly many reasons for this, but one of the biggest is the comfort it offers for sleeping and the stunning views you can enjoy from a hammock. Compared to a tent, it’s usually much easier to find beautiful spots to hang a hammock. Setting one up doesn’t require flat ground, so rocks and roots won’t affect your chances of finding a good campsite. How does Kero camping hammock differ from other hammocks on the market?

Our camping hammocks are handmade in Finland
Our hammocks are now handmade in Finland. We moved production from China to Finland at the beginning of 2024. We knowingly took a risk, as we were aware that costs would rise significantly and so would the prices. However, producing outdoor gear in Finland had been our dream since the founding of the company, and we did not want to compromise on that dream.

Our products use carefully selected, high-quality materials
Cheaper hammocks tend to use lower quality materials to keep the price as low as possible for the consumer. In our products, we only use carefully selected, high-quality materials, and the fabrics are specially made for us. This increases the product’s price, but it also ensures that our hammocks last longer in use.

Carefully designed details
We have actively used our products ourselves from the very beginning, and the details have been designed based on our own experiences, down to the very last stitch. We spent a lot of time designing the shape of the mosquito net, which is crafted so that it doesn’t hang over your face and allows for an open view from the hammock. The mosquito net is also fully removable and can be easily replaced if it ever gets damaged. The side attachment points on the hammock allow you to attach an additional underquilt for extra insulation in very cold conditions.

Practicality and ease of use
From the very beginning, our design focus has been on making the products easy and effortless to use. We wanted beginners to be able to enjoy hammock camping without having to learn complicated knots or worry about missing essential gear. In our opinion, setting up and packing a hammock should be simple and quick.

Underquilt attaches with zippers
The standout feature of our hammock is the underquilt that attaches with zippers. The hammock and underquilt pack neatly together as a single unit, making setup and packing quick and effortless. The zipper-attached underquilt stays securely in place and won’t move underneath the user during the night. Underquilt can also be easily removed when needed for washing or drying.

For those who use hammocks, sleeping comfort is considered one of the main advantages of hammock camping. Many people with back issues particularly prefer a hammock as their camping shelter.

Often lighter and more compact than a tent (especially when camping solo), at least if sleeping comfort is a priority.

A hammock is an open shelter, allowing you to enjoy the open views.
Use in warm weather
A hammock is much cooler and more ventilated in warm weather compared to a tent.
Choosing a campsite
You can hang a hammock in places where it’s often impossible to pitch a tent.
Versatility
You can use a tarp as rain or sun protection during breaks while hiking, or even at beaches.

A hammock requires two trees at the correct distance for hanging, so it’s not suitable for camping above the tree level or places where are no trees.

Tip!
If you had to choose one essential accessory for an existing hammock, it would be an adjustable ridgeline. Why? An adjustable ridgeline makes setting up the hammock much easier and ensures that the hammock body hangs correctly. It also allows you to fine-tune the hammock’s length to perfectly suit you.
